On behalf of all of us at Youthlinc, thank you for joining us on August 23 at our Annual Benefit. It was a truly unforgettable evening—made so by your presence, your generosity, and your belief in our mission of creating lifetime humanitarians.

Record-Breaking Generosity

This year’s Benefit set a new milestone for Youthlinc. With the help of a surprise match from our Board, we raised more than $150,000 in sponsorship funds—the most in our history. These dollars directly expand access for students to serve, lead, and grow through Youthlinc programs, ensuring more young people have the chance to become the humanitarians our world needs.

A Lesson on Belonging

One of the most moving moments of the evening came from Youthlinc alum and staff member Hay Soe, who shared a powerful reflection on belonging. He told the story of his childhood friend, Hser Ner Moo, a bright seven-year-old from the Karen community whose life was tragically cut short. She once dreamed of becoming a teacher.

Though she never had the chance to fulfill that dream, her name now adorns the Hser Ner Moo Community Center in South Salt Lake, a place of learning where her legacy continues. And on Saturday, through Hay Soe’s heartfelt words, she was teaching in that way, too. Her spirit touched all 370 of us in attendance, reminding us of the power of compassion, of belonging, and of creating a world worth believing in.

Your generosity not only honors her memory—it ensures that hundreds of students will continue to learn, serve, and grow into humanitarians who carry that spirit forward.
