2023 College Winners
$32,000 in Scholarships
Though our society recognizes young people for their accomplishments in sports and academics, the Youthlinc Utah Young Humanitarian Award has been celebrating outstanding humanitarian service among youth since 2005. This Award is generously sponsored by the George S. & Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation.
One outstanding high school student and one outstanding college student will each receive a $7,500 college scholarship. One high school student and one college student will each receive a $4,000 college scholarship. Three high school students and three college students will each receive a $1,500 college scholarship for a total of $32,000 in scholarship awards to students who are working to make a difference wherever and however they can.

What you need to know before applying:
You will need to have the following items before you apply:

You will write 2 essays. Please look at the following prompts & write a 500 word (approximately) essay in response.
Essay Prompt 1: “What’s the difference between a humanitarian and volunteer?”

Essay Prompt 2: Think of service you have been involved in.  Describe what made this service meaningful to you and give examples of the leadership role you took in this service. How did this service impact those around you?

You will submit a Service Resume to highlight your community involvement. Please click here for a sample.

You will need 2 Recommenders from two people who have supervised your service within the community. Please reach out to 2 people who can give you a positive recommendation and have them fill out this form here:
