Youthlinc and SUU Celebrate a Successful First Year of College Credit!

Last year, Youthlinc launched an exciting new partnership with Southern Utah University's (SUU) Community and Workforce Development Office, allowing Service Year participants to earn college credit for the service, leadership, and learning they experience throughout the program. After an incredibly successful first year, we are excited to continue offering this opportunity for the 2026–2027 Service Year!
During the program's inaugural year, 158 Youthlinc participants successfully completed the requirements and earned two college credits through SUU! With only three participants not completing the requirements, the program achieved an impressive 98% completion rate, representing a combined 316 college credits earned by Youthlinc students.
To earn their credits, participants completed at least 40 hours of local service, attended their monthly team meetings, and completed a series of Impact Modules designed to help them reflect on their service, leadership development, and the impact they were making in their communities. These requirements helped students connect their hands-on service experiences with meaningful learning opportunities, while working toward college credit.

Student feedback from the first year was encouraging, with participants expressing appreciation for the opportunity to earn credit through their service and recommending the program to future Youthlinc students. We are incredibly grateful to SUU's Community and Workforce Development Office for their partnership and support in making this opportunity possible. We look forward to continuing to build on this success in the years ahead!
Looking Ahead to the 2026–2027 Service Year
Building on the success of our first year, Youthlinc is excited to once again offer two college credits at no additional cost to eligible Service Year participants through SUU 2120: Service Learning!
Students who opt in and successfully complete the program requirements will receive official SUU college credit, which may be transferable to other colleges and universities. We are excited to continue growing this partnership and providing even more students with the opportunity to receive academic recognition for their service.

Registration is now open, and the deadline to opt in is January 10, 2027!
