Umoja Generation
Description:
Umoja Generation (UG) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable group fully committed to supporting refugee youths who have recently relocated to Salt Lake City and surrounding communities. Organized in March of 2017, UG has been actively engaging and delivering a wide range of programs to help youth succeed in their new life through education, life skills, and volunteer mentors.<br /><br />Website: <strong><a href="https://umojageneration.org/">Umoja Generation</a></strong>
As a Volunteer, You Will-
Volunteers will be paired with refugee students between 7th-11th grade to assist with things such as: homework help, school guidance, helping with basic Computer Literacy, and ESL.
Preferred volunteer experience:
- Volunteer is knowledgeable about STEM, basic computer programs such as Microsoft office, and English
- Volunteer is willing to help and be patient with students
- Volunteer must pass a background check (if 18+)
When: Saturday''s 12-2 PM, during the regular school year
