Peace House
Description:
Peace House is a charitable organization dedicated to ending family violence and abuse in the community through education, outreach, support services and shelter. The Peace House Shelter provides a safe haven for adults and families when they have no other viable option to escape domestic violence. The shelter provides temporary safe housing for families while they acquire the skills and resources necessary to start their lives anew, free from violence and fear. In addition, Peace House provides out-of-shelter services, through our Outreach program, to victims of domestic violence who, for voluntary or involuntary reasons, are not seeking emergency shelter. Personalized Outreach services are designed to empower victims to make changes when faced with an abusive situation, and provide prevention education to reduce the possibility of a future abusive relationship.

Volunteers for Peace House may help with child care, outreach/community program support, shelter maintenance duties, donation updates, supply drives, or special events. Volunteers must be 16 or older, will be required to sign a confidentiality pledge, and may be required to complete a background check.

Website: Domestic Violence Volunteer | Volunteer Family Shelter (peacehouse.org)
