With only one work day left here in Cambodia we are beginning to wrap up all of our projects. Tomorrow we will finish painting the library and digging the sand volley ball court. Some of us were given the opportunity to interview survivors of the Khmer Rouge. It was hard to comprehend and understand what they went through. We are working side by side by these amazing survivors. It has been a privilege for all of us to not only meet these amazing people, but to work with them in bettering their community. It has put a new perspective on our trip here, and we are realizing how much this means to them.
We were able to go to another school today. We talked to these students about America, school, hobbies, and anything else that came up. It was nice to have time where we could really get to know these kids. In just the two hours that we had with these kids, we became so attached.
With only two days left here in Purssat, our hearts are beginning to feel tugged. Our goodbye’s seem to last a little longer and longer each time we have to leave. It is going to be hard for us to leave these amazing people.
