What? We’ve already raised $25,983!

For the first time ever, Youthlinc and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah have partnered in a huge clothing drive fundraiser. Our goal is to fill 5 semi-trailers to the brim with donated clothing over the course of 5 Saturdays. In order to do that, 15 Youthlinc teams have joined forces to collectively bring in minimally 140,000 lbs of clothing, which will generate at least $35,000 (if not more) by selling the clothing to Savers.

The money will go towards our community health, education, vocational, business, and cultural exchange initiatives in Fiji, Guatemala, Peru, Kenya, Madagascar, Thailand, Cambodia, Nepal, and Vietnam! Plus, it also supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah’s mission to help children who face adversity by bringing a positive role model into their life.

On our first Saturday, we broke Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah’s all-time record of donated clothing in just a few hours! We were shocked when we had only planned on bringing in 45,000 lbs, but people donated 64,538 lbs, resulting in our first $16,145 towards our international projects.

On our second Saturday, we killed it again by bringing in 39,352 lbs when we had only planned on 30,000 lbs, resulting in an additional $9,838 putting our total at $25,983.

But don’t worry…it’s not too late to donate clothing! You can still drop off your donations! Click here for a full list of accepted items.
