PARENTS

FAQ FOR PARENTS!

Absolutely! We have about 7 adult humanitarians, or mentors, travel on each team every year.
Yes. When completing the registration form, Make sure to indicate in the “Would you like to travel with another participant?” section that you would like to travel with your child.

20 -25 humanitarians and alums are on each team.

We have a team leader who has participanted on a team before, as well as 5-7 adult mentors on our trips. We want to ensure there is enough supervision and mentorship on our teams as possible.

We purchase travelers insurance for all participants in the event of an emergency evacuation.

Youthlinc has team instagrams that are updated daily for you to follow along on the trip. Most teams will also set up a parental phone tree that will notify you when the team arrives in country and in the village. In the event that you need to get ahold of your student while they are away, you will contact the office and we will get in touch with the team leader; and vice versa for students needing to contact home.

Each country is different in where they stay, but rooms are split up with 2-4 humanitarians staying in rooms together. We put a lot of time into making sure the homestay is both safe and BEAUTIFUL. You will receive more information about accommodations closer to departure.

Youthlinc works with in country coordinators to ensure that all food is cooked properly, to the correct temperatures, and with clean water.
