How it's all possible

Though our society recognizes young people for their accomplishments in sports and academics, the Youthlinc Utah Young Humanitarian Award has been celebrating outstanding humanitarian service among youth since 2005. This Award is generously sponsored by the George S. & Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation.
One outstanding high school student and one outstanding college student will each receive a $5,000 college scholarship. One high school student and one college student will each receive a $3,000 college scholarship. Three high school students and three college students will each receive a $1,000 college scholarship for a total of $22,000 in scholarship awards to students who are working to make a difference wherever and however they can.

University Union Scholarship Award

Thanks to our generous partnership with the A. Ray Olpin University Union Building, any student committed to attending the University of Utah will receive a scholarship from the University Union Student Leader Scholarship Fund.

Effects of Service

Here at Youthlinc we know that service can have a major and lasting impact on youth. It can shape the way we see the world and direct us on our future pursuits. We knew that we weren’t the only ones that felt this way. Since the start of this award in 2005 we have heard from some of the brightest young minds of our generations.

Here are a few examples:

To me, community change is not about just numbers, but about striving to help others to be leaders and to share their knowledge with those around them.
-Taylor Fang
I don’t see anything more important in this life than serving others. It is very rewarding when you see others do better in their lives. Before being involved in service, I considered nothing more important than money but in reality, money won’t bring you joy and a sense of fulfillment and personal purpose”
-Fiston Mwesige
