REFUGEE SERVICE FESTIVAL
Refugee Summer Festival
This Real Life Refugee Summer Experience allows Youthlinc participants to take part in a week-long local service opportunity in their own backyard and engage with students from all around the world. This experience will work closely with our Real Life program which offers afterschool programming for refugee and immigrant teens. It will include an introduction to refugee issues and how resettlement works. Guest speakers will share their own refugee experiences and participants will be able to enjoy many international dishes from local refugee businesses. Participants will take part in a variety of fun activities at one of our welcome centers where they will get to know the students there and build relationships. The culminating event of this week will be participation in World Refugee Day which is a celebration that recognizes the resiliency and contributions of our refugee friends.
