Youthlinc is proud to be launching the Carbon Neutral Traveler Pledge. We recognize the effects of carbon on this earth, and how our international flights add to them. We want to do our part. The Carbon Neutral Traveler Pledge is an $80 donation that is passed to TreeUtah to support their mission of enhancing the environment through tree planting, stewardship, and education.
WHY?
BILLIONS OF TONS OF CO2 ARE RELEASED INTO THE ATMOSPHERE
every year
Billions of tons of CO2 are released into the atmosphere every year as a result of coal, oil, and gas production. Human activity is producing greenhouse gas emissions at a record high, with no signs of slowing down.
Climate change is a top driver of humanitarian need and human suffering, particularly for the poorest countries. The impacts threaten to deepen already wide inequalities, resulting in consequences felt by the world at large, including instability, violence and displacement.
The airline industry is responsible for 2% of total carbon emissions, and our average international flight from Salt Lake City produces 4.5 tons of C02 emissions.
Carbon emissions are dangerous in that they threaten the livelihood of our planet, animals, humans, and ultimately, life as we know it.

Trees have many economic, environmental and social benefits. They improve our lives and the places we live. Here are some reasons to plant and care for trees.
Trees also improve air quality, save energy, lower temperatures, filter water toxins, and play a critical role in environmental sustainability.
Youthinc is partnering with TreeUtah to plant trees to offset the carbon emissions from our international flights. Tree Utah is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve Utah’s quality of life for present and future generations by enhancing the environment through tree planting, stewardship, and education.

To make this pledge, Carbon Neutral Travelers will make an $80 donation which will be passed to TreeUtah to promote their work toward the economic, environmental, and social benefits of trees. You will also get a Youthlinc Cotopaxi co-branded “Carbon Neutral Traveler” Backpack. Thank you to Cotopaxi for your commitment to make a positive impact in other peoples lives and your dedication to working with nonprofits to improve the human condition.
In the spring, you will have the opportunity to have a hands-on impact, and plant your donation in the form of a tree with TreeUtah to back your Carbon Neutral Pledge
