Local Service Love

As part of Youthlinc’s Service Year, students are required to perform at least 80 hours of local service. Half of this local service is performed at a main service site. The other half of the hours can be from anywhere in their community or school.

When students become Alum Leaders, they do at least 20 hours of local service at any place. However, many students continue to volunteer at their main service sites well after the Service Year ends. Here, some of our Alum Leaders for the 2018 Service Year recall their most meaningful local service experiences and what they love the most about local service.
