Youthlinc Intern
Youthlinc Interns will work with the Youthlinc staff to ensure all necessary tasks for programming are completed including Service Year recruitment, Alum Leader requirements, presentations, general office support, event management, and any other skills the intern has to offer. The intern will be flexible and available during normal work hours from August to April.
Youthlinc Intern
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet weekly with the Communications Director to discuss scheduling and determine needs for the week.
- Assist with recruitment strategies such as contacting interest sheets, presentations, and tabling.
- Help with event management at Annual Benefit, Parent Nights, General Orientation, Committee Training, and other events.
- Assist the Youthlinc Staff where general support is necessary.
- Responsibilities are flexible and can be adapted to the intern skill set.
Job Requirements: Must be a Youthlinc alum and have availability during general office hours
Preferred Experience: Past experience with the Youthlinc Service Year
Job Type: Seasonal/ Part-Time
Duration: August-April
Hours: Approximately 10/per month
Compensation: $200 a month

Real Life Assistant
The Real Life Assistant Director will work closely with the Real Life Director to ensure all Real Life program needs are being met including supply and lesson readiness, site oversight and support, and covering for absent interns as needed. The assistant director will be flexible and available during the hours of 2:30-6, Monday-Thursdays from December - May
Real Life Assistant
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee programming at 6 Real Life sites and ensure all lesson supplies are prepped and purchased, handling communications with interns regarding lesson supply pick up/drop off.
- Meet weekly with Real Life Program Director to discuss scheduling for each site and determine needs for the week.
- Visit assigned Real Life sites each week and communicate any concerns or issues that arise to the Real Life Director.
- Assist interns as they cultivate relationships with site staff at partner centers and volunteers.
- Empower interns to take ownership of their sites and provide support, as necessary.
- In the event of intern absence, fill in at sites as needed.

Real Life volunteers act as peer mentors for refugee and immigrant tweens and teens in Salt Lake City. Our volunteers provide academic tutoring and participate in hands-on, life-skills activities. Although many of our volunteers are participants in the Youthlinc Service Year, this opportunity is available to any individual who meets the following qualifications:
- Be high school or college-aged
- Commit to volunteering 2 hours per week through the Real Life Year
- Live in the Salt Lake City Area
- Be enthusiastic, flexible, and willing to step out of your comfort zone
SERVICE YEAR MENTORS
We need adults from a variety of professions and backgrounds to assist our student participants as they assume leadership roles on each team, learn to make a difference, and embark on a lifetime of humanitarian service. We call these adults our Service Year Mentors.

Do you want to make a difference in your local community and communities abroad?
Humanitarians are first year Service Year Participants. They are high school or college aged students at least 15 years of age. Humanitarians will complete 50 hours of local service from October 15th to June 1st. They will attend all team meetings and participate in committee planning and execution.

Real Life Interns work directly with Real Life Director(s) to manage and run our 12 Real Life sites and their volunteers. Interns take part in academic tutoring and lead activities intended to teach life skills. This paid position is available to any individual who meets the following qualifications:
- Be a high school graduate
- Commit to 4 hours of work per week through the Real Life Year
- Live in the Salt Lake City Area
- Be a natural leader, excited to make a positive impact on the volunteers and students you work with
Have you been on a Service Year trip in the past and want to take on a leadership Role? We have positions like Team Leader (24+) Assistant Team Leader (17-23) and Alum Leader (15-23) available for participants who want to be more involved in the Service Year.
