Service Year: Local & International
The Youthlinc Service Year curriculum is designed to engage youth actively in local and global needs, and give them the leadership skills and experience to begin to make a difference in those needs. Students accepted into the program make a commitment to volunteer a total of 80 hours in their local communities. This is the Local Service portion of the Service Year.
Once accepted to the program, students are required to attend monthly planning meetings where issues related to humanitarianism both at home and abroad are discussed. In these meeting students form committees related to the needs in the international site and plan, prepare for, and receive information regarding their international service experience.
