Donors & Partners

Youthlinc is grateful to partner and receive donations from the following institutions and individuals:

Local Partners

Youthlinc works with Utah and international Rotary clubs to invest in and develop a service ethic in our youth, through sponsorship and by providing role models of individuals dedicated to local and international service.

We are also extremely grateful to the Utah Rotary Clubs which have supported the international communities in which Youthlinc serves through Rotary International Grants to bring numerous quality of life improvements, including water projects, bathrooms, vocational training equipment, playgrounds, and many other worthwhile projects.

We are grateful to the Rotarians who serve annually alongside Youthlinc students as valuable mentors for their professions.

The Michel Foundation is our major local partner for funding construction projects such as schools, dormitories, first aid stations, libraries, and other critical structures at all of our international sites. Because of the Michel Family Foundation, thousands of children in developing countries can now attend school, thousands of people of all ages have access to first line medical care and literacy. The generous donations of the Michel Family Foundation have provided renovations and supplies that have dramatically improved the quality of life for people they have never met, and have shown Youthlinc participants the true meaning of giving selflessly.  Click here for a short Prezi about the Michel Family Foundation.

Youthlinc is also proud to partner with the University of Utah, Utah State University, Westminster College, Dixie College, the City of South Salt Lake, Catholic Community Services, and the Asian Association of Utah, and many business and professional associations.

Many other generous local donors also support and fund water projects, sanitation, school and first aid station construction – and other quality of life improvement initiatives.

In-country Partners

We are extremely grateful to our international Rotary club partners over the years:

Rotary Clubs of Nakuru, Nairobi Utumishi, Meru (Kenya); Rotary Clubs of Piedras Negras, Ocotlan, Tuxtla Gutierrez, San Cristobal (Mexico); Rotary Club of Iquitos, Peru;  Rotary Club of Patong Beach, Phang Nga, Thailand;  Rotary Clubs of Angkor and Pursat, Cambodia; Rotary Club of Puerto Barrios, Guatemala. Rotary Club of Kathmandu Metro, Nepal.

We are also very fortunate to partner with these non-governmental organizations: Sustainable Cambodia, Asociación Ak’tenamit in Guatemala, and Solidarités Jeunesses (SJ) Vietnam, People for Guatemala.

These outstanding Rotary Clubs and organizations have volunteered to coordinate  for our Service Year teams:

  • organizing  accommodations, food, transport, etc either through their connections as community leaders or through their members who are professional travel agents.
  • overseeing Youthlinc and Rotary club projects in our partner communities, as well as their own projects in these communities.
  • communicating regularly with us, as a vital and informed link between our partner communities and all the people working with Youthlinc to lift up those in need.

For more information about partnering with Youthlinc in your international community, please contact our International Service Director office@youthlinc.org

Thank you, Youthlinc, for your organization, consistent communication, flexibility, and all your hard work in securing so many donations! Thank you for your cultural sensitivity and for purely serving Ak’tenamit, not taking it into your hands, but letting us tell you our needs. It is important to have that sort of consciousness in a group of people who volunteer internationally – to understand how important it is to help in a sustainable way, empowering people to help themselves or giving them the tools to do so.

But what most impacted me about working with Youthlinc was the sincere connections your young people made with the students at Ak’ Tenamit. There were many language and cultural barriers, but those were surpassed and many beautiful friendships were cultivated

Bianca Gras, Ak’tenamit Volunteer Coordinator

Youthlinc provides a wonderful humanitarian experience for young people that will an impact well into their lives. My own daughter has gone twice to Peru and has pursued a career in medicine so that she can go back and provide further humanitarian service, all of this starting with her experience with Youthlinc!

As the Utah Rotary Youth Service Chair, I am concerned about strengthening the bond between Rotary clubs that sponsor Youthlinc students and their Interact clubs. The more that they work together, the more that they mutually benefit.

Mike Wells, Tooele Rotarian, two-time Youthlinc mentor
